(Warning: VERY VERY LONG please do not doubt my sanity)
For history, go here
-His smile:
Whether it’s a shy, gentle smile or a OHGODI’MDYING laughter, it’s always genuine and coming from his heart. I love how when he smiles his eyes twinkle (more than usual) and one is bigger than the other and sometimes he’d try to stop smiling so he makes a serious face for a split second and looks down then starts smiling again ;A; And I love how when he laughs his eyes disappear and his mouth is so big you could shove a tennis ball in there and all you see are his front teeth and he’s either clapping or bent over or clinging on to someone for dear life (image what image) ;u;

-His eyes:
Luhan’s eyes aren’t just pretty (though they are with their perfect shape and laugh lines and long dark lashes ;A;), they are honestly the brightest and clearest I’ve ever seen. They say that he has stars in his eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul, and from his eyes you can tell just how warm and kind of a person he is. His purity is different from that of an innocent child’s however; he knows of all the unkind things in this world, but isn’t and refuses to be tainted by it. 知世故而不世故才是最善良的成熟。

-How he takes care of the other members:
Luhan’s an incredibly caring person who puts the needs of others over his own. Lay has said repeatedly that he’s a great person because he’s willing to do anything to help his friends regardless of the potential consequences. On stage, he translates for Korean members even when the camera is on him, he drags Chen to sing with him during interviews even when he’s the only one asked to sing, he always gives other members opportunities to shine like trying to push Xiumin on stage to do the three little bears dance or pushing Lay up on stage to demonstrate the History dance, he stops to grab Tao’s hand to make sure Tao doesn’t get separated from the group, he sits and talks with Lay who’s injured to make sure that he’s okay — in all of these situations, he had a chance to get more much-needed screen time (which is important at this point in their careers) but instead he chooses to retreat to the back and help out or let his members take the opportunity instead.

-How well he follows and co-operates with his leader:
Despite being older, Luhan is always the first (sometimes only) to follow along and/or agree with whatever Kris is saying or suggesting. If Kris is introducing or explaining something, he’ll be the first to agree and clap. If Kris is saying anything remotely funny, he’ll be the first one to laugh (the hardest) and clap. When Kris suggests something such as rock-paper-scissors, Luhan will always jump in with a “Okay!” before the other members even react. I love how co-operative Luhan is not only because it shows how much he likes and respects Kris as the leader but also how supportive he is of him and the other members.

-Childishness:
Luhan is a caring big brother when his friends need him, but other times he’s just an 8 year old ;A; Like that time on the airplane with Kris, he got him to find a vomit bag for him and proceeded to demonstrate vomiting into the bag and later after he finished his juice he just put it on Kris’ little table and put his table up and leaned back comfortably LOL. He also LOVES stuffed animals and food (he was actually staring at Tao the entire time Tao was eating when he thought he wouldn’t be able to eat and when he smelled the food he pretty much stuck his head into the plate and when he got to try a piece he picked up many pieces at once and then looked sad because everyone had already put away their chopsticks and he had to, too :c). He’s also always moving around, whether it be poking or playfully hitting his members or jumping up and down and acting and miming and volunteering during a guessing game when he’s not even a participant!

-Determination:
One thing that stuck with me (and the staff as well apparently, seeing that it got published) was during the POP magazine photoshoot, he was really sick and kept coughing until his eyes were so red he looked he was crying but he never asked for a break. But it shows in the smallest things as well - like when he was playing Temple Run at CLC, it was supposed to be something he fools around with for a bit for the sake of the show, but no, not with Luhan apparently. He kept going and going even when people were distracting him, even when the MC told him that it was more than enough. While he was playing, he was even explaining the features of the game (“I need to get the wings, they’re really cool!” to the people around him, and when he finally had to kill himself due to the lack of time, he looked really sad and had a regretful expression as he was handing the iPad back to the MC. When Luhan starts something, he tries his best to complete it to the best of his ability.
-Shy/Awkwardness:
This might be a bit of a strange reason to love him, but it really shows just how natural he is. He’s not your top-notch entertainer who has a way of making everything seem funny, he doesn’t have endless funny stories to share, he freezes up in front of the camera, but you know that it’s all real — none of it is done for the sake of the show. What you’re seeing, everything you’re seeing, is just Luhan. I really, really treasure this, because it’s so rare among idols, and most likely won’t last very long as he gains more experience. He’s also really bad at fanservice, but everything he does say and do comes from the bottom of his heart. Like when he had to say something to a fan on Extraordinary Class, most idols probably would have said a lot of sweet words that fans will go crazy about (“I love you,” “you’re beautiful,” “please stay with me forever,” “what’s your number?” etc) but what did he say? “Stay safe, study hard, don’t spend too much money, and treat your parents well.” This doesn’t get a fan excited the way empty sweet words do, but honestly, it’s so much more truthful and important than anything else.

-Politeness:
Luhan is -always- bowing, past 90 degrees and to everyone whether they might be senior artists, staff members, or fans. When shooting for POP magazine, the staff said that he accidentally spilled a bit of coke and he immediately went to go wipe it up, even though staff told him he didn’t have to, he insisted. Even during showcases and live performances when they’re already tired from performing, he still helps the staff carry chairs, especially when they’re shorthanded. In today’s age when a lot of people don’t care about manners and respect anymore especially if they have power or fame, I find this quality really valuable.

-How humble he is:
Forget about boasting — Luhan doesn’t even admit the things he can do. He was the most popular boy in high school (and even Kris said so), but he wouldn’t admit it. And another thing (that actually kind of upsets me tbh but I still love him for it) is when he introduces himself. NO ONE else introduces themselves the way he does — Baekhyun and D.O both confidently say they’re the main vocalists, all the EXO-M members say without hesitation their positions in the group (singing, dancing, rapping, AND being a romantic panda in Tao’s case). But even though he can also say he’s the main vocal + lead dancer, he says instead “I can sing a little bit and dance a little bit”…during Chengdu CLC, when the MC heard that he asked Luhan “so you’re just an audience member (who doesn’t really do anything)?” and Luhan said yes. But seriously, this is like the only thing I wish he would change — people who don’t know anything about the group and watch this would just assume he’s a useless visual who just looks good when he in fact is so talented and does so much in the group :(
-Talent:
Like I said above, Luhan is an all-rounded idol. He’s not just a visual, he’s also the lead vocalist and lead dancer. To achieve this with just a year and a half of training is incredibly difficult (especially since when he was younger all he really focused on was soccer lol). He sings the ballads with Chen and dances dance songs with Lay. Furthermore, he’s improving really quickly and steadily. If you carefully watch him dancing MAMA at the showcase then compare it to recently, he has improved a LOT esp. on the details. It’s obvious that he loves what he does too — he dances MAMA everywhere he goes, when he heard the background music MAMA during a photoshoot he started singing along and the photographer had to tell him to close his mouth, when other members perform Two Moons he’s always in the back dancing or rapping along — and I think this love for singing and dancing is one of the reasons he improves as quickly as he does.

-His love for EXO:
This is pretty much self-explanatory (he was caught drawing EXO logos during break time OTL) :(

-His love for his fans:
Anyone who pays attention to him knows how much he cares for and respects his fans. Like I mentioned earlier, when he’s told to say something to a fan, he tells them the things he thinks are truly important in life (studying hard, saving money, staying safe etc.) even though that would not benefit him at all as the idol they’re neglecting their studies, spending money, and risking their safety for. But it doesn’t matter; he doesn’t say what he thinks will benefit himself — he says what he thinks will benefit THEM.
At the airport too, he’ll try to take all the banners/letters they hand to him, and he’s always paying attention to and worrying about the fans. When one fan was walking beside him and it was really crowded, he kept telling her to be careful and not fall repeatedly even though he was stumbling himself. Or one time a fan fell right behind him (and made really loud noise) he stopped walking completely and turned around and just stood there looking really worried until the manager/staff member had to push him to get him moving again (since fans were closing in lol). He listens to the fans’ suggestions too; before the CCTV interview a fan told him to talk just a little bit more because they want to hear him talk and he did — he didn’t take the spotlight but he kept throwing in little comments (“a yellow light” “I drink black tea” “until midnight” LOL) that he never did before then.
He also uses everything his fans give him, like the deer accessories/keychains he constantly has on his bag, or the T-shirts he always wears are all from fans. Every time he’s at the airport or there’s a picture of him in casual wear, a fan dies of happiness because he’s wearing what SHE gave to him. Just recently when he was returning to Seoul, he looked like a Christmas tree because people kept throwing gifts at him and he took everything and later had to put on that neck pillow they gave him, then use the bag they gave him to carry everything else and ended up with like two backpacks on. He doesn’t pick and choose either — he wears everything. There was a picture of him in I think LA a while ago, or around then (not the T-shirt he wore at Disneyland/airport) in a really ugly T-shirt and fans were kind of laughing at his choice of clothing but then people found out it was from a fan ;A; For Luhan, it doesn’t matter what you give him because as long as you give it to him, he will appreciate it and treasure it and use it so that you know he loves it ;A;

愿我有生之年,得见你光芒万丈。
